« back to classes page
CourseGraphic If you’re exploring a career in insurance or looking to take a confident step into a stable, in-demand profession, this 40-hour career certification is designed to support you every step of the way. Through a blend of instructor-led learning and flexible online coursework, you’ll build a strong foundation in insurance while preparing to earn your Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation and sit for the Nevada Property and Casualty License Exam.

This hybrid course is structured to balance connection and flexibility. You’ll meet in person with your instructor on Mondays for guided instruction, discussion, and real-world context. The remainder of the week is self-paced and asynchronous, allowing you to engage with course materials, readings, and assignments on a schedule that works for you.

Throughout the course, you’ll explore essential insurance concepts, policy structures, and risk management practices, with a practical, career-focused approach. You’ll also strengthen the communication and customer service skills that insurance employers value, helping you feel prepared and confident as you enter the field.

Beyond exam preparation, this course introduces you to the wide range of career opportunities within insurance, from agency and brokerage roles to underwriting and risk management pathways. You’ll gain insight into industry expectations, common terminology, and how insurance professionals serve individuals, businesses, and communities.

By the end of the course, you’ll be prepared to take both the CISR exam and the Nevada licensing exam, and you’ll walk away with a clearer understanding of insurance as a meaningful career with long-term growth and opportunity.
