ServSafe: Food Handler Certificate

The ServSafe Food Handler Certification is an entry-level training designed for non-managerial food service employees. This in-person course combines instructor-led lecture with hands-on activities to teach essential food safety principles. Participants will learn how to maintain a clean and sanitary food service environment and reduce the risk of foodborne illness. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate from the National Restaurant Association.

The ServSafe Food Handler Certification is a 60–90 minute, entry-level training designed for non-managerial food service employees. This in-person course combines instructor-led lecture with hands-on activities to teach essential food safety principles, including personal hygiene, cross-contamination prevention, allergens, and proper time and temperature control. Participants will learn how to maintain a clean and sanitary food service environment and reduce the risk of foodborne illness. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate from the National Restaurant Association, typically valid for three years (local requirements may vary).
