
The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider course is a prerequisite for entrance into the
Health Sciences programs at TMCC, as well as entrance into any clinical setting. In this course students will watch video demonstrations and then get the opportunity to practice hands on CPR skills on our manikins which provide feed back on compression rate, depth and ventillations. The course teaches adult, child and infant CPR. You will learn how to use an AED, as well as how to help someone who is choking.
Students must be able to pass skills test, as well as the 25 question multiple choice exam. Passing score for the exam is 84% the exam is open book/ open note
the textbook is NOT included in the cost of the course. Students should bring paper, pen or pencil to take notes.
