CourseGraphic Gain a well-rounded introduction to medical administration so you can learn the necessary skills to obtain an administrative assistant position in the health care field. This 56-hour course prepares you to function effectively in many of the administrative and clerical positions in the health care industry. Medical administrative assistants, secretaries and records clerks are all positions in great demand. The U.S. Department of Labor Statistics predicts job growth in this field to be 12 percent through 2024, with starting pay averaging 14 dollars an hour. Delve into important background information on the medical assisting profession, interpersonal skills, ethics and law, terminology, basics of insurance billing and coding, telephone techniques, scheduling appointments, management of records and practice finances. This program does not include state or national certification. Internship not provided.
