This course is designed to train instructor candidates to conduct provider courses on the latest AHA guidelines and skills. Instructor candidates should exemplify integrity, demonstrate strong ethics, communicate clearly, and model a dedication to quality training. Instructor candidates must meet certain requirements before taking the instructor course. You must contact the Training Center to be approved for registration.
- Be accepted by TMCC AHA Training Center before enrolling in an Instructor Course and have a completed Instructor Candidate Application on file with that Training Center. For approval you will need to contact the Training Center Coordinator.
- Have current AHA provider status in Basic Life Support and be proficient in all the skills of that discipline.
- Successfully complete the BLS Instructor essentials online course, as well as the classroom portion of the Instructor Course.
- Successfully be monitored teaching your first course within six months of completing the BLS Instructor Course. Training Center Coordinators can require additional monitoring.
