Deepen the bond with your dog and bring joy to the people who may need it most, such as those in hospitals and nursing homes. Become more familiar with canine body language and communication. Prepare to pass the Alliance of Therapy Dogs test by learning about reinforcement schedules to maintain good behavior and how to keep your dog comfortable.  Meet with other dog-handler teams and facility staff who are looking for teams to hire. Learn about public access policies, dog advocacy and educational groups you can be a part of. Supplies required.  To Do Prior To Class: 1. Please fill out the self-assessment.  2. Discuss the equipment options on the market, how to select what will work best for you and how to use those features to benefit your images. Practice the techniques you learn out in the field. Critique the images you and your peers have taken and find out how to apply the feedback received to create photos for publication, sales as prints or social media posts.

Discuss how to stock an effective first aid kit and how to handle allergic reactions, fights and wounds, poisoning, travel and trail mishaps, as well as everyday occurrences. Become comfortable treating wounds, stopping bleeding, and administering medication. Learn how to track your pet's vitals so you can more easily detect health issues and how to monitor and manage their pain. Please do not bring pets to this class.
