Clinical Medical Assistant + Internship

Step into a rewarding healthcare career with our Clinical Medical Assistant + Internship program! This enhanced pathway combines the comprehensive training of our Clinical Medical Assistant program with valuable real-world experience through an approximately 80-hour internship at a participating healthcare facility.

Under the guidance of an experienced Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), you'll develop the skills needed to succeed in private practices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare settings. Through 144 hours of lecture and lab instruction, you'll gain hands-on experience in vital signs measurement, medication administration, medical record keeping, specimen preparation, patient preparation, diagnostic testing, phlebotomy, pharmacology, and the cardiac life cycle.

Today's employers value experience as much as education. The internship component provides an opportunity to apply your skills in a professional healthcare environment, gain exposure to day-to-day clinical operations, build professional connections, and strengthen your résumé before entering the workforce. Students who successfully complete the internship will receive a Certificate of Completion documenting their clinical experience.

Completers of this Eligible Training Provider List (ETPL)-approved program can expect to sit confidently for the National Healthcareer Association's Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) examination.

Internship placements are subject to application, screening, successful completion of program requirements, and site availability.

Program Cost: $4,799. Includes textbook, online resources, labs, NHA CCMA exam cost (first attempt; retakes are the responsibility of the student), and internship placement support.

• Phlebotomy: Learn the techniques of drawing blood for testing.
• Pharmacology: Explore the fundamentals of medications and their uses.
• Cardiac Life Cycle: Study the essentials of the cardiac system and its functions.
• EKG Procedures & Cardiac Monitoring: Learn how to properly perform electrocardiograms (EKGs), place leads, recognize basic cardiac rhythms, and assist healthcare providers with cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
• EKG Certification Preparation: Students will receive training designed to prepare them for EKG certification eligibility, including hands-on practice and completion of required live EKGs as applicable.
