Materials List for Spring Acrylics Class
These are the projects I will be presenting for this session:

Portraits
Here are the materials you will need: (If you go to Nevada Fine Arts, show them
this list and they will give you 10% off.)
Weeks 1&2
Bring the following every week:
1. Board to work on – can be foam core
2. Bucket for water (at least 1 quart)
3. Variety of brushes – can be an inexpensive packet
4. Paper or plastic plates
5. Paper towels
6. Spray bottle for water
7. Paints – these should be good quality such as Golden – but not
Golden Open, Atelier, Sennelier, or Liquitex.
Black and White – can be Amsterdam from NFA. These are
cheaper, larger and because they do not have pigment, don’t need
to be the best quality.
Quinacridone Magenta – make sure it is quinacridone
Pyrrol Red – or any true red will work
Indian Yellow
Cadmium Yellow
Phthalo Blue
Ultramarine Blue
Optional, but useful – Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Raw Umber
Pencil
Scissors
Tape – blue or green
Add these for weeks 1&2:
Illustration Board – one large piece will last for four weeks, 2 will
work for all 8 sessions
Gesso – white
Weeks 3&4: Add these items:
An old brush to use with wax
Drawing paper
Sharpie – fine
Liquid acrylics, if you have them (I will show you how to make them in
class)
Weeks 5&6: Add these items:
Sharpie – medium
Metallic gold paint

Weeks 7&8: Add these items:
Collage Material
Matt medium
