TMCC Motorcycle Rider Course – MSF Basic RiderCourse
Learn to ride with confidence in TMCC’s Motorcycle RiderCourse, designed for beginners and open to all experience levels (ages 16+). This MSF-approved course combines a required online eCourse with hands-on riding practice led by certified RiderCoaches.
What You’ll Learn
- Motorcycle controls and basic operation
- Starting, stopping, turning, and shifting
- Swerving and emergency braking
- Safe riding strategies and road awareness
Course Includes
- 5-hour online eCourse. (Must be completed before class; bring your completion certificate. Access code and eCourse link sent ~30 days before your class)
- Two days of on-cycle training
- Loan motorcycle provided
- MSF completion card (may be used for Nevada DMV motorcycle endorsement and possible insurance discounts)
Requirements
- Nevada resident or active-duty military stationed in Nevada
- Valid driver’s license, permit, or learner’s permit
- Minimum age 15½
- Under 18 requires parent/guardian waiver (Please call 775-829-9010 for the parent waiver.)
- Ability to ride a bicycle and handle a motorcycle independently
- Minimum 30" inseam
Required riding gear:
- DOT helmet, gloves, long pants, long sleeves, over-the-ankle boots, eye protection
- Students must bring their own riding gear, snacks/food, water, and ID
Important Notes
- Course is taught in English
- Attendance at all sessions is mandatory
- No refunds for student cancellations
- Transfers allowed with a $15 fee (requested 96+ hours before class)
- Classes may run in rain or light snow; severe weather may require rescheduling
- Arriving 15+ minutes late, missing a session, dismissal, or no-show results in forfeiture of course fee
- This is a challenging program; students may be dismissed for unsafe progression or inability to demonstrate required skills. Dismissed students do not receive refunds.
