Therapy Dog and Handler Certificate

CourseGraphic Deepen the bond with your dog and bring joy to the people who may need it most. Work at your dog’s level by learning to speak dog. Discuss training tips and techniques, understand how dogs think and establish a reinforcement schedule for well-known behaviors.  Interview with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and meet dog-handler teams. Observe public access policies and service animal rights as well as dog advocacy and public education groups you can be a part of. Supplies required. We highly recommend that students have taken 1 or more obedience classes prior to registering for this class. Dogs must have reached or passed their first birthday on or before the first day of class.
