CourseGraphic Serve as an important connection between pharmacist and patient, whether you’re in a hospital, pharmacy or other health care setting. Working under the supervision of a registered pharmacist, ensure medications are filled correctly in a timely fashion and assist in the measuring, mixing, counting and labeling of dosages. During this 70-hour program, you’ll gain the knowledge to take the Pharmacy Technician Board Exam and be on your way to a fulfilling career. Learn relevant medical terminology, discover how to read and interpret prescriptions, and get to know drugs by generic and brand names. Find how to calculate dosages, IV flow rates, drug compounding, dose conversions, dispensing of prescriptions, inventory control, billing and reimbursement. The median pay is $16.87 an hour.
