Beginning Birding

CourseGraphic Discover the fundamentals of bird identification with an experienced instructor from the Northwest Nevada Bird Alliance. Build confidence in recognizing common species while learning how to effectively use field guides, optics, mobile apps, and other tools. Strengthen your observation skills and gain practical techniques for identifying birds in the field. Participants are also invited to join an optional field trip to a local birding hotspot, where they can practice their skills alongside an experienced guide and enjoy the excitement of birdwatching in a natural setting.

Please read:  Transportation to the field trip is not included. Please pack accordingly for the field trip by bringing snacks, food, water, sun protection, layers for Nevada weather, and any other items that will help you feel comfortable for the day. Recommended to bring binoculars, if available. Families are welcome; everyone must register.
